Pasta with a Bacon Mushroom Cream Sauce
Serves:6
This full bodied sauce goes well with a dense pasta like our rigatoni or ziti.
Origin: Italian
Ingredients:

3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 pound bacon, diced
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 pound mushrooms, thinly sliced
1 package frozen peas, thawed
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
1 pound COLAVITA Pasta, prepared according to package directions
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese


Preparation:


In a medium saute pan, saute garlic, bacon and onion until bacon is cooked, but not crisp. Remove excess fat; add mushrooms, salt and pepper; cook until mushrooms are limp. Add peas; cook for 2-3 minutes; add heavy cream, bring to a slow simmer; simmer stirring gently until thickened. Pour sauce over pasta, top with Parmesan cheese.
